Grammie's Boy Noah Andrew Joseph

Just in case you miss the sign, this is the view from the street of our New Maryland location.  Come in the door on the left and follow the quilts!

This sweet little quilt is on loan from Connie Fullarton.  She is an expert piecer and makes the most beautiful quilts.  We have several samples of her twister quilts at the shops and we are trying to persuade her to teach a class for us the fall.  Keep your fingers crossed.

This beautiful Rail Fence was made by Theresa Burtt.  She took Margie Grieve's Quilting 101 class last fall.  If you want to get started quilting, this is one of the very best classes for you.

I made this wall hanging with a PB& J Jelly Roll and a bit of brown for the wood and a little bit of grunge background.  It is hanging in the New Maryland shop.  I must say, it was a very fun quilt to make.  I got excited to do another each time I added a pencil!  We have the patterns and Jelly Rolls in stock.

I would like to start this post with a heartfelt thankyou to everyone who made the Grand Opening of my new shop in New Maryland such a happy and successful event!  A special thanks to the slave volunteers who helped me over the weekend!  Ellen and Betty in Woodstock and Sandra, Karen, Pat, Jen, Vonda and Barb in New Maryland.  Marilyn Dykeman for helping me cut and fold a ton of fabric.  (It's a tough job but someones got to do it) Thank you!

A special thanks to Peter, Catlin and Sarah for actually moving the stock and getting the space ready!

A very special, special thanks to Noah for being so darn cute! xoxoxoxo

Next week we will be getting these Perfect Scissors Karen Kay Buckley.  They are super sharp with serrated edges and come highly recommended by many of the sewing personalities on utube.

Grand Opening of The Christmas Crab Quiltery in New Maryland, NB

Only 2 more sleeps till the New Maryland shop opens!  I would like to thank the super crew of volunteers (angels) who helped me set up the new shop on Monday.  It is sooooo true, many hands make light work and I felt so lucky to be able to leave and get home before dark, knowing that everything was all set for Thursday morning.

Today, I worked in the Woodstock shop and then went to pick up some new stock!

We have the Summer issue of Primitive Quilts and Projects.

On page 43 is a photo of a quilt that I would love, love, love to make.  It is called Butternut and was inspired by a scrappy antique quilt and is shown in blues and browns.

 Some of the new patterns

These little quilts are so sweet and you can make the appliques with wool and flannel for the background and borders.  Notice they fit on those cute little table stands!  Did I mention that working with wool is yummy?

Do not be intimidated by how these look finished-it's like "a slight of hands"!  No seams to match, no curves to cut: just amazing resuts. We also have the 9 degree rulers in stock.
